Code Enforcement Officer

The Borough of South Greensburg is accepting letters of interest for the Code Enforcement Officer Position.

Effective 01/01/2018

All letters of interest and inquiries should be submitted to the Borough Secretary.

New Permit Fees

Residents Please be advised of new permit fees that go into effect 9/19/2017

Fence Permit – $25.00

Occupancy Permit – $100.00

Sign Permit – $50.00, any sign over 50 sq. ft.  $2.00 per sq. ft.

On Thursday 9/14/17, the Borough with the help of our outstanding local Boy Scout group distributed a flyer addressing a variety of topics to

all households in the Borough.

Park Commission Openings

Residents,

Park Commission Members terms will expire in October 2017.

Any resident interested in serving on the Park Commission, with a term expiration of October 2020, please submit a letter of interest to:

New Ordinances Adopted

At the August 14, 2017 council approved to adopt the following new ordinances.

Vote:    Yes 7,  No 0, Abstain 0, Absent 0

ORDINANCE – 10-2017 Fairview Restriction

Ordinance – 11-2017 Medical Marijuana

ORDINANCE – 12-2017 Quality of Life

Ordinance Hearing 8/14/17

Borough Council will be holding a hearing regarding three new ordinances.

Ordinance 10-2017 Quality of Life, this ordinance address Blight, Property Maintenance, Permits and the fines attached for residents who fail to comply with the ordinances of South Greensburg.

Ordinance 11-2017 Medical Marijuana, this ordinance address where a Medical Marijuana Distribution Establishment can be established.

Ordinance 12-2017 Weight Restriction on Fairview Ave, this ordinance places a maximum weight of 20,000 lbs. on Fairview Ave from Route 119 to Reamer Ave.

This meeting will be held at 6:30pm on August 14, 2017 prior to the regular council session.

 

 

Community Picnic

The Community Picnic is scheduled for AUGUST 18, 2017.

Please make note that this is a change from the original posting, which had the date as August 11, 2017.

 

NEW ORDINANCES ADOPTED 7.10.17

As part of Borough Council’s recodification project below are the first set of new and revised ordinances that were adopted by council at the

regular meeting on 7.10.17.

Portions of these ordinances will be added to the borough code list once the process is complete.

Please be aware that any changes made by the newly adopted ordinances take the  place of any ordinance already displayed in the borough code and on the borough website, such changes are noted by chapter and section numbers.

When reviewing an ordinance always refer to the date to determine which ordinance holds the most accurate context.

INPUT FROM THE PUBLIC

Input from the public is being requested by the Park Commission….

The Park Commission will be holding a public meeting on August 1, 2017 from 6-8pm.

Huff Pavilion in the Park.

The Park Commission, along with a professional park planner will be there to discuss the long term viability, improvement and use of the park grounds.

Public input is requested for help in developing the long-range plan.

Resident Survey

During the election held on May 16, 2017

Borough Council asked residents to complete a survey to help gauge the areas that are of most concern to the Borough’s Residents.

We are asking for your continued help in getting as much residential input as possible.
