DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY

Due to the recent rash of winter weather, and the critically low salt supplies, South Greensburg Borough Council is asking that all residents refrain from non-essential travel.  This is being initiated because the current snow amounts on the ground and the forecast for more along with critical salt supply levels have created conditions where travel could be detrimental and unsafe.  Residents are asked to refrain from all non-essential driving from 8:00 P.M., Thursday, February 13, 2014 through and until Noon, Saturday, February 15, 2014.

There are some exemptions from this restriction for the general public:
> traveling to and from places of employment
> transportation of students to and from educational facilities
> citizens traveling to and from any hospital or medical physician practice
> commercial truck traffic for supplies and services

In addition, observe all traffic laws with extra caution and SLOW DOWN please.  Remember only travel if absolutely necessary.  Stay Safe.
